Announcement on the Implementation of the Inspection-Free Policy for Non-operating Passenger Vehicles Entering and Exiting the Mainland from Hong Kong and Macao for 6 years

In order to further expand the scope of services to benefit the people, starting from July 1, 2017, non-operating passenger vehicles and other non-operating small and micro passenger vehicles (excluding vans, vehicles with 7 seats or more) entering and exiting the mainland from Hong Kong and Macao will be implemented for 6 years. New cars within this period are exempted from the inspection line inspection system. That is to say, the above-mentioned vehicles registered with dual-region license plates within 4 years of leaving the factory, in addition to the online inspection required for the first registration, if the registration date is after July 1, 2017, no online inspection is required within 6 years; the registration date is July 1, 2015 If the inspection date is between June 30, 2017 and June 30, 2017, the online inspection will start in accordance with the regulations in the fourth year after the first registration inspection; if the registration date is before June 29, 2015, the original inspection regulations will still be implemented. If the above-mentioned vehicles have been involved in traffic accidents that caused casualties, or if the vehicles have not been registered for more than 4 years after leaving the factory, they still need to be inspected online according to the original regulations. During the free online inspection period, vehicles only need to apply for an inspection mark once every two years, and the application address and required materials remain unchanged.
