Announcement on the official launch of card-based motor vehicle travel and driver approval notices (electronic approval documents) between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao

Starting from July 1, 2017, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and various joint inspection units have officially launched the card-type approval notice for motor vehicles traveling between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and for drivers to drive (hereinafter referred to as electronic approval). The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

1. Business handling requirements

Those who have not received the electronic approval document can return the paper Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao motor vehicle traffic and driver approval notice (hereinafter referred to as the paper approval document) when handling Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao motor vehicle or driver-related business that requires approval. After the business is completed, an electronic approval document will be issued; if the electronic approval document has been received, the paper approval document and the electronic approval document should be returned when handling the business, and the electronic approval document will be issued after the business is completed.

2. Replacement of Lost Approval Documents

If you only have a paper approval document or an electronic approval document, you must apply for a replacement electronic approval document according to the first page of the original paper approval document; if you have received both a paper approval document and an electronic approval document, if you only lose the electronic approval document, you must return the paper version Replace the approval document and apply for replacement according to the first page of the original paper approval document, but there is no need to publicize it; if you only lose the paper approval document, you do not need to specifically replace the approval document. When handling other business, you must issue a loss statement and return the electronic approval document. It will be handled by the company’s legal person or shareholder, and an electronic approval document will be issued after the business is completed. If the paper approval document and the electronic approval document are lost at the same time, apply for a replacement according to the first page of the original replacement approval document, and the electronic approval document will be issued after the business is completed.

3. Use of electronic approval documents

Electronic approval is to write the paper information and extended information of the paper approval into the chip, leaving more space for future business expansion. Users can go to the relevant joint inspection unit with the card to prepare and register, which is more economical and environmentally friendly. At the same time, because the card is a rewritable film, please do not scratch it and keep it properly. ​
